Tokyo Oct 08 - Around TIFF @ Roppongi Hills

back to my pics from Octobers trip to Tokyo for the Tokyo International Film Festival:

Here are some pics from around the venue hosting the film festival and TIFFCOM:

Red Cliff was the opening film for the festival (The day before I got there) and they had signage everywhere.  It was also opening wide in Japan two weeks later, so there were ads up in the subway, etc.

Matsutani -san of Tetsuka Productions gave an interesting talk on coproducing Japanese anime... he's not big on slides! :-D

The 2nd of the three fancy buffet receptions I attended. ;-)

This one was hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.  I helped pay for this with my HK tax dollars, so I might as well enjoy it!   By the way, I should be sure to mention that it was SUPERBLY ORGANIZED by a very capable staff... :-D

Look who I met - its the HK film legend Raymond Chow! (of Golden Harvest fame).  If I need to explain who he is to you,  you don't know anything about HK film!

Also during the daytime they had stuff going on outside.  They were setting up for a performance by some group with the easy to remember name ' Funky Monkey Babies':

The band wasn't out yet, but their cheering section of super fans was ready!
