"National Security and Democratic Liberties: The Continuing Significance of Korematsu v U.S." takes places Feb. 23-24 in Honolulu - hosted by the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai'i.

The new Garrick S. Lew Scholarship awards $10,000 to a third-year law student committed to a criminal defense practice after graduation. The scholarship is funded by the MTYKL Foundation and administered by the AABA Law Foundation.

Garrick passed away a year ago next month, March 19.

Kalani Pe'a made history yesterday at the #GRAMMYs. His album “E Walea” (http://amzn.to/2lAnYF8) was named the winner of the Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Album.

It was the first time in the history of the category that the award had been won by a Native Hawaiian recording artist. It was also the first time since the category was created in 2011 that the award had not been won by a Louisiana-based Cajun or zydeco album.

"E Walea" is Pe'a's debut album.
