Spent this weekend at the Wushu US Team Trials. Good time to get out of town and get a little perspective - travel does that. I've been to Baltimore several times but never this part and not since I was 20. One of the things you notice is that the trees, birds and people all look different. The architecture is very brick and square. Colonial.
Adjectives to describe this place; Swampy, Smoky, Economically Depressed, Lush, connected with long narrow roads. There are very few street signs and highways have few turnoffs. Once you...Read more
I'm not going to get too nit picky about my review here but I'm just going to throw out that Transformers was a really good time.
I went in with no expectations and I thought it was a great creation. Lots of solid work from acting to animation and I actually wanted to find out what was going to happen next.
I'm not the type of person who can't let go of the childhood memories of my toys enough to enjoy a movie based on them so I'm giving it the thumbs up.
I didn't really understand the end but the res...Read more
The shoulder is finally back working. Seems like now with each injury I get afraid it is never going to go away. Shoulder separation, AC joint and peripheral ligament strain....3 weeker. First 3 days I was a 98 year old man..then up to shoulder level action was ok, now I'm at 95 percent which is good enough for sanda.
My company softball team has practice this Sunday so I'm going to get out there and hopefully regain some dignity:)
Art is going well but this week has been tough energy wise. I got a new workspace and I...Read more
Man I am f'in lucky. I'm listening to an awesome album, "Has Been" by William Shatner. I am working on some concept art for an upcoming soccer game. Doing the fun part now, just blazing through ideas and layouts. Supernatural soccer poses and badass looking guys kicking soccer balls with flames and all that.
By the end of today I need an awesome final sketch. The last guy doing my job did a crap ass version of a similar thing so I'm going to try to blow that one away.
But I get to draw all day, sometimes i...Read more
Spent this weekend at Hetch Hetchy - the big water reservoir used by San Francisco. There is a 3 bedroom cabin along the water there. My sister and her husband and kids went up and brought me and a few people along.
The granite peaks are huge and shoot up extremely steep above the valley, waterfalls dig through the rock. The whole thing is a glacier valley filled with water since it was dammed 90 years ago or so.
Took my 4 year old niece up on a hike to a water tower, a tough climb that forced me to carry her at points and requi...Read more
Me and a friend are slowly working on a gritty caveman comic. This character isn't what our final look is going to be about but I liked how it came out. I love adding the rivulets of gore and flecks of ichor.
Finally had to accept that Illustrator has its merits! I got the program and this is more or less my first image. So easy to make it CLEAN. The shark guy I made a while back (with the cane) would have been dead on if I had made him in Illustrator.
I picked Sponge Bob just to try to hit an existing style. I think it's goo...Read more
So I've been working at a mobile games company for a few months now. I did this piece of pixel art as a concept drawing, it's the good luck three legged toad from Chinese mythology. He loves coins so grab em before he does!
Minigolf btw:)
An older great white, not in a good mood. He's all out of chondroitin and he has a bad "hip"
Here I tried to work up a cartoony shark guy - I never really do this style but I did want to have the ability to do it if needed. His profile isn't really old - he could have been a little more wither...Read more
