what a crazy weekend!
I want to wish my ex co-worker, Juan Ortiz, the best of luck outside of Disney, even though he doesn’t need any luck at all. Juan is extremely talented, and I’m excited to see what he produces in the near future. Juan worked on toys, such as snow globes, in the Hardlines department at Disney. He finally decided to work at home, focusing on his comic books and other personal work. Since he is a Pasadena neighbor, I’m going to bother him a lot! (Like a wart, Juan! shakes fist)
I hope for the best for everybody in Disney, Pasadena. It’s sad to hear that the company is being reduced to the negative, stereotypical Disney Company… when they admit that you, as a worker, are dispensable, it doesn’t reflect positively as an organization.
I’ve been spending a lot of time painting in my little domain… I dont have my camera back from this crazy weekend.. (went to import diva, Helen Tsu’s birthday party on V20 saturday night…) I dont plan on drinking for a while after that night… haha… If you saw those pictures, it wasn’t me! It was my… evil.. twin…
Steve Terada from Quest Dance Crew invited me out to the Harvest Moon Festival in San Gabriel.. (Great performance guys!) It was fun hanging out with the homies and watching some of the fans come up to Quest for pictures and autographs… I felt like such a groupie ha ha.. The cutest thing was a letter that Terada received from a mother — he received a three page letter about her daughter, and Quest inspired her to dance and how grateful she was to have Quest as a positive influence in her daughter’s life. It was so cute! It made me think about how we, as artists, touch people.. just by doing what we love and being positive role models for others. I hope that I can do the same some day. Until then, I will continue painting my pretty/gross pictures ha ha ha…
Before I left the festival, i bumped into Ben Ling of Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP): check out his organization!

After festival, I went to go see Beau and family at the gallery.. what I didn’t anticipate was that he’s moving his gallery Project to across the street, to a bigger space. Congrats Beau! I’m excited for you! I was also able to see the inner workings of Paper Tiger and got the start of the art and culture magazine Daily DuJour… Big thangs for the future peoples!!! I will also be working with project in an upcoming show for 2009.. oh my god I’m going to explode!!!

I want to thank AliveNotDead.com for making me an official artist! That totally rocks my socks! If you guys are unfamiliar with Alive Not Dead, its an online community for artists.. Its a great place to network and keep tabs on other artists and fans. So check it out, and if you have time, create an account!
I think the next thing on my list to do is go see Bookie.. my homie, Marcus (itsyourpalmarcus.com) thought it was the best thing at the DGA Asian American Film Festival this year.. I think I might be spontaneous and go by myself. We’ll see!
