... this is how I got here.

My younger sister is a film maker. This past weekend, she was being featured at the Director's Guild of America here in Los Angeles. I played wingman most of the time, accomadating her to network parties, film screenings, seeking out John Cho, etc.  After her music video was premiered, the family and I attended the social afterwards. I was caught staring at this guy's trucker hat.. which in reality, he caught me staring at...him.  I forced him into a random conversation and scribbled my info on the back of the bartender's business card and hoped to see him at the afterparty. We arrived at standard party time.. around midnight, at the lounge, where I found him by the bar surrounded amongst friends and beautiful women. We talked during his nineth shot of tequila, which is when I found out that he was an actor. When I went home, I found him online and... turns out, he is a Hong Kong movie star.  This so-called movie star is also the co-founder of a site called "alive not dead."  I checked it out.  I saw...  I liked...  I added a profile. I don't want to admit that  I became addicted to this website, but for the first few hours of adding myself, I can't log off .. I think it's a fantastic place to network. I feel proud to be apart of an online community dedicated to all types of artists... and I'm even more impressed that it is predominantly an Asian community. Overall, it was an eventful weekend: between touring the Director's Guild of America, hitting on a movie star, and finding myself on an online community... this is how I got here.
