spring 2012 randoms

i had an issue with my laptop, so i had the apple store remedy the problem. when i got my computer back, i turned on my macbook pro and wondered what the apple staff was thinking when they saw my desktop wallpaper.

i think i found this image on ffffound.com, and i think its gorgeous and gross.

this was actually my inspiration for “broken butterfly nets”.  random , huh?

speaking of another random, i just found out that my submission for a poster contest has been declined. here is the preliminary sketch for my submission:

why does this feel familiar? oh yea, i submitted an illustration for mcdonald’s calendar and this entry got rejected

(if you look closely, you can see that i used the texture of this painting and photoshopped it into my last dragon submission)
