Extra! Extra! Yin Wins With A Phat Tat!

CB Fresh would like to take a FRESH moment to congratulate our hero, Phat Chan, for the successful launch of his book, TAT ADDICTS, at the Hong Kong Book Fair.

Members of CB Fresh plus a good group from AnD went to Phat's discussion on Saturday where he talked about his book, his inspirations and also he invited Master Gabe from Ace Dragon Tattoo to give a live tattoo demonstration to select volunteers.

One of my favorite parts of the mostly Cantonese discussion was when Phat tried to tell a joke but it fell flat with the audience in which Phat mentioned how he's trying to be funny but obviously he's failing miserably. This was met with huge applause and laughter.

Geez, Chinese audiences are strange...

BUT the highlight, outside of Phat's book, of the day has to be our own Simon Yin's impromptu tattoo in front of a crowd of about 100 or so.

It sort of went like this:

Phat speaking in Cantonese.

Rob translating to a Mandarin speaking Simon.

Phat mentions he's looking for volunteers for a live tattoo demonstration.

Rob asks Simon if he wants a tattoo.

Simon says yes.

Rob tells Simon to raise his hand.

Simon not knowing that he's raising his hand for a tattoo right then and there trusts Rob and raises his hand.

Simon gets picked.

Simon discovers he's actually getting a tattoo right there immediately.

What?!! NOW?!

Miss Yellow looks on with sadistic pleasure. She was doing a great job in chatting up with Simon to take his mind off the pain.

"I would like to thank my boy Rob for looking out for me."
