Pat and I went to see the HK Ballet's performance of The Merry Widow this afternoon down in TST.
This is my 3rd or 4th ballet to attend since coming to HK, and I think I enjoyed this one the most so far. Particularly I thought they did a pretty good job with the costumes and sets. I snuck a picture during the curtain call:
A pretty good seat! As you probably know we're friends with several of the ballet company so we had to come and support them. Particularly Selina was playing one of the female leads (Valencienne). She did a great job. I think her part actually has more dancing (and time on stage) than the lead.
Unfortunately Crystal is playing the same part on other days -- so we could only see one of them perform. Doh! (In the pic above Crystal is on the far right in the blue - doing a minor role on her off-days).
After the show it was raining like cats and dogs. Worse than being inside one of HK's many full-blast-AC-crazed stores and restaurants is being inside one when you're wet! :-(
Bonus pic: On my way back home in M0S i stopped by the store. Since I'll be moving in a few months i've started thinking about what kind of furniture I'll get. This one place had some interesting choices:
hmmm, the beetle sofa is interesting... I like beetles.... AND it lights up!
