Me and a few friends met up for dinner last night here in Beijing. It was supposed to be a small artist meet-up, but our guest of honor ( Andrew) had to change his flight back to HK for work, so he wasn't able to make it. Anyway, my friend Karen helped us book a private room at a well known Guizhou cuisine restaurant to the north of the Forbidden City called Da Gui ( 大貴 ). We got a really great spread:Mouse over for the tags to see who is who. ;-) How does the food look? You name it, it was included, soup, noodles and a bunch of stuff I didn't recognize.I never did figure out what was in the round things that look like Takoyaki.... the brown cake looking thing in the back was apparently made of sticky rice. It was actually my favorite of the night.Between courses we took a lot pics:Apparently Wu Di and Firebirddecided to have a bicep-off.... Zhang Lanxin joins... Karen doesn't quite get the concept... its not a tricep show! no paparazzi were here, but we did some sticker branding anyway. (note that the new AnD stickers are glossier than the old ones, so unfortunately we're going to get a lot more glare like the one on the ZLX.....)Wu Di discovers that the new alivenotdead.com stickers also make an excellent replacement for waxing strips! :-DFor dessert they treated us to an extra dish... apparently some sort of famous speciality.... what the hell is this? some sort of black matter on top of a space ship?for those who have beeen to Beijing, especially back in the day, you'll recognize this familiar around disc with the holes in it... look familiar?leave your guesses in the comments! ;-)
