Final USA blog - Inca Kola, OG skateboards, etc

A few odds and ends left over from my trip back to the USA last week...

I spent quite a while looking for a new bag while I was back in the US. I left no stone unturned,  I went to REI where I bought my old bag I wanted to replace but they didn't have anything similar on sale anymore.

I tried this ridiculously large sports/outdoor goods chain store...

It turns out that Target of all places had the best selection...

Ultimately I DID find a pretty nice Eddie Bauer laptop bag that converts from a shoulder bag to backpack... as seen here a few days back.

One thing I find the most mind blowing culture shock wise is walking into a super market when I return to the US...  not just because of the types of food on sale, but the cheap prices and just hugeness open spaces of the store...  can't get this in Japan or Hong Kong easily. :-P

Aside from visiting Japanese Castles and going bicycling,   another one of my favorite pastimes is taking photos of Generic soda brands...

Its no 'Mountain Breeze' or 'America Cola'... but 'Inca Kola - the Golden Kola'  gets bonus points for going with the ethno-historical theme and changing the spelling of cola to kola.

I didn't buy it to see how it tasted. But I'm guessing its cream soda?  :-P

Speaking of Soda and Soda related products:

This particular super market also had a FULL LINE of sarcastic can coolers....    when you can't be bothered to be an annoying prick yourself,  let your Can Cooler Be Surly for You.

While I was back home visiting my parents, I went upstairs looking for some papers I left there last time.   I happened upon my brother's collection of now 'OG' skate boards...  I couldn't resist taking a pic or two:

A Steve Steadham Powell-Peralta deck and Rob Roskopp Santa Cruz...

and in relatively mint condition:

A Mike McGill (plus a few classic stickers)  btw -   what ever happened to Gorilla Ribs?!?

Speaking of historic pieces:

I'm guessing this 1989 vintage? Possible older. I'm afraid to actually know the answer. :-P
