I was in Shenzhen today (pictures coming soon) and I saw an old recycle lady picking up plastic bottles off the floor in a mall, I had just finished the last gulp of coke from a 500 ml plastic bottle... i looked down at the bottle in my hands and saw the old lady walking by and I said "excuse me, would you like this bottle?' she said 'yes, thank you!' and i felt good for myself...
(for not just throwing them on the ground like everyone else and making a small effort to help her out).
so not that I believe in Karma, but maybe my insignificant deed today gave me just enough to get some good luck in return...
when I returned home i checked my email and I got a notification from a travel agent that Cathay just announced a massive sale on certain flights for the next week... included in the list of cities is Fukuoka, the place in Japan I used to live -- that I haven't been back to since last august (please refer to blogs 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 - I especially recommend 5 and 6!), and that I'm itching to go back to!
The price is an obscenely cheap HK$2000 including tax, thats like US $250, normally the price is US$400-500 or more! wow, what a deal!
So i immediately started checking availability of tickets, etc... usually its never available the days you actually want to go, but I was lucky again, I found a ticket for the exact weekend I wanted to go - May 30th to June 2nd...
Anyone want to know why i picked that weekend? its obvious if you go to this page:

In case you can't read Japanese... the point is that none other than Hamasaki Ayumi is doing her 2008 10th Anniversary Concert Tour performances in Fukuoka that weekend (two shows of course). I went to see her 2005 and 2006 shows there. Don't miss my photo album on this subject, if you haven't seen it btw:
