OK, better late than never! Here's a few extra photos from our Hawaii trip last month for the Hawaii International Film Festival.
Here's 'the rest'... in no particular order...
The weather was so nice in Hawaii... gotta love the palm trees too.
Having lived in Asia for the past 3 years, i really get a kick out of seeing old school cars on the road every time i return to the US... there weren't as many classic cars on the road here compared to Berkeley or SF, but still not bad... when was the last time I saw a 50's Pink Cadillac on the street?
Of course since we were hanging with Conroy, there has to be a lot of BBQ on the menu, we were lucky enough to get a few nights of some really dinner:
The guy on the left was the BBQ Maestro...
On the way back from the beach, Phat, Kim, Kit and I stopping off by Diamond Head to enjoy the view. There was a big fat seal down on the beach below us that looked like it was sleeping.
One of the downsides of the whole trip was that i was the driver for the offcial AnD rent-a-van, which meant I got enlisted to make a few super market runs...
This customer says 'I love Armenian Lavash' -- but he assured me he was NOT buying all this food because the food in Shandong is nasty...
After the FTG screening a bunch of us went to a karaoke bar for some fun:
I was impressed with the selection of music... English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc. some really esoteric stuff and some really new stuff.
I took a picture of the Japanese song catalog, note the Engrish:
Doh, Utada has good enough English that she can actually pronounce the 'L' too, so thats no excuse...
By the time you guys read this, i should be on my way to Tokyo (and hopefully sleeping)... should be a fun next few days.
