Japanese Movie Review - Suspect X

Its like a Japanese Sherlock Holmes...  

This film was released in HK a few months back but I didn't get a chance to watch it.  I caught it on the plane... its actually pretty good. The main guy is a slightly eccentric physics professor who helps the police solve crimes on occasion (i'm assuming this is from a TV show or manga like all these other Japanese movies I seem to be watching lately). relatively straight and a bit dark.  Its about a murder case investigation that the police can't solve.  Can Professor Yukawa out battle the stalker Math Genius High School Teacher? :-P

Japanese title is '容疑者Ｘの献身' -  A bit slow but entertaining. Kou Shibasaki, from the horrid 'Shaolin Girl'  does much better as the female cop who works with the Professor. 

This is one of those films that you think you know what's going to happen but it has enough small twists in it that keep you from really knowing exactly how it'll end.

A strong 6/10.
