I'm still watching movies on my phone, although I haven't had time to write up reviews as much lately. Last week I watched one recommended by a friend that was quite good. Its titled 'Untold Scandal' in English, in Korean its " 스캔들 - 조선 남녀 상열지사", wikipedia is here.
Basically its a Korean adaption of 'Dangerous Liasons', based on the French novel " Les Liaisons dangereuses". Stars Bae Yong-joon (배용준 aka ヨンさま) and Jeon Do-yeon (전도연), who you may remember from such Etchy blog entries as this one...
Its an interesting story set in the Joseon period of Korean history. Bae plays a playboy who bets with his cousin about whether or not he can get his mac on with the neighbor's prude widow daughter next door. There's a lot of intrigue and mind games and double crosses going on, which keep things entertaining. Despite the subject matter, its relatively tame content wise.
The film is quite well made and well acted. I think this is actually the first Yonsama movie I've seen, (I never saw 'Winter Sonata', just like I've never watched 'Meteor Garden'...), he does a good job. I recommend this one if you're looking for a well made drama. I'll give it an 8/10.
