In addition to the symposium events going on downstairs, Liberatum HK also had an exhibition space that was connected to an activity area (ping pong and snack foods!) I didn't have much time, so I only checked out a bit, no time to watch all the multimedia installations unfortunately. :-(
The photo exhibition included works by Wing Shya. Some where of random people, and some were of celebs I recognized:
Recognize this guy? He was just talking downstairs right before...
The beautiful Cara G (with nothing but her hands to cover up!) :-O
This series could be said to be a bit controversial... they're of the babyfaced young artist G.E.M. in a decidedly not very young setting and style... The guy next to me said something to his friend about it looking like underage p0rn or something, but apparently this guy doesn't know that she's actually 21 years old. But I guess that's the downside of having that look. Even when you're 30 you're still going to get carded at a bar. :-P
The highlight of the photos was this large sized cinematic masterpiece:
It looks like its a scene from a movie starring Daniel Wu and Shu Qi... we spent a minute debating what movie it may have come from, but I'm pretty sure that it was just staged for this photo shoot. Very cool!
Here's a better framed version:
The fun with these types of shots is trying to think of a film story line which this could be a frame from. It also makes you think "damn, if that was a movie I'd totally want to watch it." -- sometimes the image in your mind is better than whatever the filmmaker could actually make, so its better left unfulfilled. ;-)
Last but not least - Here's the Carrera set up in the activity area. They let you try on different styles and take polaroids w/ them on:
Thanks to Carrera for supporting this entirely free event! I'm not sure if these photos are still on display now that the weekend event is finished. If you are in the neighborhood, you can go to One Island South and find out! ;-)
