MC Jin at Mix Tape 2009 Release PR Event

Yesterday between meetings I stopped by M1 Bar in TST to attend Jin the MC's Mixtape CD release press conference.  MC Jin is releasing a FREE CD of him rapping over some popular local and international songs.  He has done a lot of these in the US, but hypothetically this is the first time anything has been done like this in Cantonese. If you are a Jin fan, you should definitely check out the 'Meen Fei Mixtape 2009' CD!  I took some pics and some video,  first let's start off with the opening performance:

Of course gotta find something to involve the sponsor in the photo op,  so its time for 'the art of mixing with Jin...'

Jin brought out two special guests,  in this case my good friends Phat Chan (A-fei) and Kit Leung (A-kit).  They are members of 24Herbs and former members of legendary HK rap pioneer band LMF. 

Kit was too busy enjoying his Jin Mix Drink to talk much... :-D

Yes that's right, they produced FIFTY THOUSAND COPIES!  which sounds like a lot considering that many CDs in Hong Kong only sell a fraction of that amount...    but Jin's mission is not to sell these, but instead to give them away.

Actually it doesn't just sound like a lot, it is a lot! Look at all these boxes... this is not even half! :-o

Jin will be doing a give-away tour next week,  here's the tenative schedule:

Causeway Bay – Times Square-January 21st & 24th – 12pm to 1pm

Causeway Bay – Sogo - January 21st & 24th - 1pm to 1:30pm

Central - Lan Kwai Fong-January 21st & 24th - 1:30pm to 2:00pm

Central - Star Ferry-January 21st & 24th - 2pm to 2:30pm

Tsim Sha Tsui – Star Ferry-January 21st & 24th - 3pm to 4pm

Mong Kok (Sai Yeung Choi Street)-January 21st & 24th - 4pm to 5pm

Go check it out if you can!  It should be fun just to watch them trying to find people to take them at a sufficient rate... if you did 1 CD every 3 seconds, it would still take you 41 hours to give out all 50k! :-O
