On the Return of the Infamous Edison Scandal and Views...

Long time etchy blog readers may remember that last year when the whole Edison Chen Sex Photos scandal (陳冠希淫照)  erupted across the HK press (and the entire internet),  a few of my blog postings on the subject garnered a LOT of views... like tens of thousands of views.  (behold the power of SEO... and the power of people searching for p0rn!)

parody image that surfaced at the time of the scandal. Eventually the things turned back to normal.  The computer technicians who got the pics from Edison's laptop were arrested and things died down.   But last week there was an aftershock in the scandal.    Edison gave a deposition in the criminal case and one of the actresses involved broke her one year silence and totally went off about Edison's behavior to the scandal in an exclusive interview for a HK TV channel.     

Unfortunately this whole thing happened the same nightas the Skate First DVD party,  so unfortunately all the news coverage containing photos from the party are ALLLLabout Edison (its really quite frustrating!  basically all the articles say the same thing -  "this celeb appeared at an event,  we asked them about Edison,  they had no comment " -- that's it,  no mention of the Skate First DVD,  or alivenotdead.com, or the sponsors, etc.  Doh!).

We should have known better and scheduled our event on a slower news day! :-P

I really wish this whole thing would disappear! at this point its just an unpleasant distraction.

Anyway, you may also have noticed that my view count has accelerated the last few weeks.  (I've gotten almost 10,000 more profile views in the last 3 days!).  I thought maybe it was because one of my blogs (probably the Edison 淫照 ones),  were getting a lot more hits.

I saw Batman!

As you can see from the titles,  some are  photos from HK media events.  Some are related to concerts, some contain video (the Mega Trance and Teriyaki Boyz ones are because i had popular youtube clips that link back).     Some are film reviews (they always seem to do well on view counts...  and not just the esoteric asian movies,  even my Disturbia review made the top 20!)  ... Some make no sense... like the scuba one.    Also there doesn't seem to be much correlation between view count and comment count. 

btw,  for those keeping track,  it looks like Jet Li and Daniel Wu get about 4.25 and 4.1k views per day.  So my 2-3k per day seems insignificant. :-P
