Here's some pics I took last night at the Launch Event for Race and Rosanne's comic project with Pat Lee, titled Orius. It was held at the new Garage Works store in Sai Wan, and coincided with the opening of a gallery exhibition of some of Pat's comic work from the past decade or so.
In this case since alivenotdead.com was helping to run the event, I didn't get a chance to take as many photos as I would have liked. But here's a few I did snap:
Good press turnout, especially for such a cramped sidewalk!
The 2R sisters were the queens of the night, in their futuristic outfits...
Ah, more contrast on the signboard Chris!
Race and Rosanne (and Pat Lee) pulled out all the stops and got some star power to help get the presses' attention... Jaycee Chan and Van Ness Wu came down to support the event, very nice!
I wasn't able to get a better angle for the group pic:
Cause there was so many people on the sidewalk.
The funny thing is watching all the people on the upper level of the Tram staring down thinking 'wtf?!?'
After the photos outside most of the camera crews went inside to do interviews w/ the artists involved and a few of the guests:
Unfortunately the gallery is a bit small, so it created a log jam for arriving guests... doh! Not much we could do given the way the place was set up.
As you can see from the mic's, a good turnout of TV press too. Hopefully some users will be able to find the reports and put them online.
Most of us were hanging out outside waiting for the press to clear out:
Etchy is all about the branding! ;-)
David, Rosanne, Terence and Race.
I was running around most of the time, so I didn't ask to take many pictures with anyone except for one special case:
The beautiful Miss Grace Huang.
The extended alivenotdead family!
Unlike most events list this, between the friendly crowd and free flowing alcohol, people stayed quite a long time and were having a good time. We went til after 11... Van, Andrew, Terence and of course 2R stayed til quite late. Great turn-out!
Jin the MC came by too... here he is with Brian and Chris, big congrats to GarageWorks for a great first exhibition. We'll be hearing more from them soon, I guarantee!
Special Thanks to Red Bull for sponsoring the drinks!
And the staff for working so hard! Thanks Redbull!
