Last Saturday I went to Macau to check out the Sam Hui concert at the Venetian. I saw the show here last January and enjoyed it, so when Scottie invited me to watch this year's show I wanted to go, especially because I missed their Coliseum show last September (cause I was in Beijing).
Upper tier was closed, but the lower tier and floor were packed. after the show the casino was jammed, I think Sam's fans are the exact right demographic for the casino crowd. ;-)
I didn't take a lot of shots during the show, but here are some of the ones I did:
extreme zoom! I noted that Sam has lost some weight since last year, he is pretty ripped for a guy in his 60s!
Special guests, the (younger) Hui brothers!
Yes, they had the dancers again. I don't know how Ryan and Scottie ever managed to get married with all these hot girls running around back stage at all these shows. :-P
Speaking of the dancers, they did a bunch of costume changes, including:
I think you can guess what that is...
Note to self - become rock legend and hire team of cute, athletic dancers to cavort around you while wearing Seifuku... :-P
It wouldn't be a Sam Hui concert w/o some good crowd interaction. At least three or four times he went down to the fence to give gifts or get gifts and do chit-chat with the fans.
They don't just give flowers either!
Yes, that is a two-pack of pringles! (After Patrick creep put them by the side of the stage I was totally tempted to grab it and rip it open since I didnt' have a chance to eat dinner before the show... but then I thought if the fans saw me eating half their gift, they'd totally go ballistic. ;-)
Anyway, it was a fun show! I'll be here next year!
Special back stage group shot with Ryan, Uncle Ricky and Scottie.
