The Flaming Lips Hong Kong Concert Pics and Video

Went to the Flaming Lips concert last night.  We were media sponsors and helped to promote the show a bit. I didn't know what to expect other than what I had seen on youtube before hand.  I tried to catch up on some of their songs too, so I wouldn't be completely unprepared. 

It turns this is more of a full featured entertainment experience than your regular concert...  as you can see in the picture above,  they have some giant balloons flying around during a large part of the show and an arsenal of confetti cannons hooked up to Nitrogen bottles keeping the entire arena full of visual entertainment. 

Very sensory in that respect.  But it doesn't stop there...

Untitled provided some great visuals too,  they had a circular LED screen playing animations and video clips throughout the show.    It also was hooked up to a small video camera on the microphone of the lead singer:

oh, and the plastic dome guitar.  :-P

For me, the best part of the night was the giant hands... 

ok, he has giant hands... wait,  what's with the electrical cables coming out of the hands?

holy crap! laser hands!

something relatively simple... but pretty freaking cool.  I want to make a pair of giant laser hands now...
