not much left to blog about, just a few fun pictures i took in the recently renovated terminal at Narita:
maybe its been a while since i was in this terminal... (i usually only fly ANA or United to Tokyo...) but it seemed to be recently renovated. They had nice hardwood flooring and open spacious lounge areas with nice decorations...
even more impressive was the corridor areas, which had vertical wood slats and floor to ceiling blow-ups of classic Japanese illustrations...
I was running to get to the omiyage store before my flight started boarding... I promised a friend some 'Tokyo Banana', and apparently the only place that sold it was the gift shop called 'Akiba' (oh really? I am Goshujin-sama!)
in addition to selling a lot of electronics, the had a lot of souvenir snacks...
a giant sized Gundam robot toy? i'm guessing you can move him around using that remote control (not sure why it looks like a 1970s era remote though...) it sells for 300,000 yen (=~US$3k)... not exactly sure how they expect you to get it home though... i don't think that will fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat...
Anyway, good job Narita! Nice terminal.
