Wow, just when you thought Friday couldn't be beat... along comes Saturday... I have so many stories and photos to share, but its late and I'm worn out, so let me get some photos from our arrival Thursday night out now, and ask for your patience as I do it all chronological like...
Pat君と僕はまだ東京に居る!今日はもとすごいでした!晩から、木曜日の写真だけ有る。。。見てください!
The plane ride (ANA) was quite bumpy... and we somehow got stuck in the annoying old Cantonese people tour group section (except we didn't have the matching hat....)
But the service was good.... full cans of drinks (after getting 1/2 a dixie cup on Cathay and China Airlines, this is something I notice...)
Refreshing AND Uplifting!
Not only do I get a can, I get a fancy Japanese Olympics can... not sure if you can tell, but it was EMBOSSED... i.e. there's an indentation in the aluminum where the olympic rings, the coke logo, etc are... first time I've seen that on a soda can.
They had the on demand video system too, these things rule. I watched 'Fool's Gold' and half of 'Lions for Lambs'.... I noticed something funny in the guide directory though...
5分日本語授業?15分ですか?
We flew up on Thursday afternoon, arriving at Narita at around 8:30pm, by the time we met up with Mio downtown Tokyo, it was about 10pm. We took the new ' Nippori-Toneri-liner' elevated train to where we were staying...
The stations are brand new - typical japanese austere modern designthe line just opened about 3 months ago.
But Pat didn't notice cause he was too busy battling with this guy to be the biggest geek on the train... (in patrick's defense - at least he wasn'tplaying on a baby-blue DS...)
パット訓は電車のオタク二番!
After dropping off our stuff, Mio was nice enough to take us to get us a late dinner. The most common choice for late meals in Japan is the 'Family Restaurant (aka Famiresu), ie Denny's, Lyon's type place... Pat didn't want his first meal in Japan to be a hamburger from Joyfull, so we found a Japanese cuisine-based Famiresu - ファミレスで晩かった食事した。
Meal #1:
I got the tempura soba. Mio went for sushi, Pat went for the katsu set...
あまり悪くないよ!
