Today I finally started to edit my mini-doc about alivenotdead.com. It will be in two parts. I almost finished the first one called Welcome to Alive Not Dead part 1: Fake band / Real movie(running time will be around 14 minutes)...

...which is mostly about the movie The Heavenly Kings四大天王and contains an interview of Daniel Wu (from Cannes 2006)...

...+ footage of the premiere at the Hong Kong International Film Festival & some short interviews by Terence Yin, Raffi/Etchy and Patrick/Rottendoubt (made one year ago).I’ll put the part 1 on my website after tomorrow. I hope to finish the second part (with longer interviews of Terence, Etchy and Rottendoubt) before my next trip to HK (on March 22 nd).

The media reaction to &quot;The Heavenly Kings&quot; sounds like sour grapes to me. Artists often manipulate the media to their own ends, this wouldn't be the first, nor the last time it happened in HK. Also, the media prints so much about celebrities that is just bold-faced lies, or innuendo that, if repeated enough times becomes &quot;credible fact&quot;. Daniel and company were all born and raised in the US or Canada. They have rather different experiences and expectations of the media because of this. Sometimes their relationship with the HK media feels like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Americans who become celebrities in HK maybe aren't as savvy at playing the game as HK born and raised celebs? I think the way Edison Chan handled his scandal is an example of this.
