Boring Japanese movie screening at the HKIFF video room in the morning (no need to mention the title), but great meeting at Kowloon Tong in the afternoon, because I could finally have a super interview with Hong Kong producer Nansun Shi 施南生, who co-founded with her husband, director/writer/producer/actor Tsui Hark 徐克, the legendary Film Workshop.

This year, several events were organized by the Hong Kong International Film Festival, to celebrate the 25 th anniversary of this production company.

First of all, Tsui Hark and Nansun Shi received a special prize on March 23 rd, at the Asian Film Awards, for their "Outstanding Contribution to Asian Cinema", from the hands of the great Taiwanese actress Lin Ching-hsia(who played in several Film Workshop and Tsui Hark movies including “ PekingOpera Blues” and “ Swordsman II”).

Secondly, there’s also a tribute named “ A Tribute to Romantic Visions” which includes:

-from March 24 th to April 10 th, twelve movies produced by Film Worshop screened at the HKIFF :

Tsui Hark’s “ ShanghaiBlues 上海之夜” (1984)

John Woo’s “ A Better Tomorrow 英雄本色” (1986)

Tsui Hark’s “ PekingOpera Blues 刀馬旦” (1986)

Ching Siu-tung’s “ A Chinese Ghost Story 倩女幽魂” (1987)

King Hu, Ching Siu-tung, Ann Hui, Andrew Kam and Tsui Hark’s “ Swordsman 笑傲江湖” (1990)

Tsui Hark’s “ Once Upon A Time in China 黃飛鴻” (1991)

Ching Siu-tung’s “ Swordsman II   笑傲江湖II東方不敗”(1992)

Tsui Hark’s “ Green Snake 青蛇” (2000)

Andrew Chen’s “ A Chinese Ghost Story: The Tsui Hark Animation 小倩”(1997)

Tsui Hark’s “ Time and Tide 順流逆流” (2000)

Tsui Hark’s " The Legend of Zu蜀山傳"(2001)

Tsui Hark’s " Seven Swords 七劍" (2005)

-From March 26 th to June 27 th: An exhibition about Film Workshop at the Agnès b.’s Librairie Galerie. (1/F, 18 Wing Fung Street, Wan Chai - Time:11:30 - 20:00 - Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays - Contact: 2869-5505 / galerie@agnesb.com.hk) - Some photos of the opening below...

-On April 10 th: A public seminar (free admission) about Film Workshop conducted by Keeto Lam and Shum Longtin.

Concerning the interview with Nansun Shi, we talked (during almost 45 minutes) about Tsui Hark, France, the 25 th anniversary tribute (exhibition, screenings, party - pictures below…)

...and her career before Film Workshop (TV works, Cinema City etc…) until now (her collaboration with Mandarin Films on “ Dragon Tiger Gate” & “ Flashpoint”, her new companies Distribution Workshop & Irresistible Films etc…) Frédéric Ambroisine (April 3 rd, 2009)
