IKU is a French rock band influenced by Grunge and Riot Grrrls music, formed in 2004. Members included Akasha 'Sick' Lust (Bass guitar and singer), Solange Protin (guitar),
Anne Mercier (guitar) and Céline Vanier (drums), who left the band and was replaced by So. Noel in December 2007. They’ll be the main characters of my documentary Rock 'n' Roll Girls.
Before, So. Noel started to work already with Akasha in the experimental electro band d.e.v.i.a.n.c.e (since February 2007).
She was also the drummer of a Stoner rock band with Akasha and Solange the same year, Harpi RMI.
But since she joined IKU, they decided to merge the two bands. So, basically now, The "Old" IKU + Harpi RMI = The "New" IKU.
The following video shot by Laurent Vallet ( Hold The Line, 70 Miles Family) & me, is an excerpt of a 40 minutes showcase played on January 20th, 2008, one week before the first official gig of the "New" IKU at the Female Trouble night, where the Italian garage punk band Motorama and French "60's dance gang" The Freakettes will perform as well.
