"Gallants" premiere in Udine / Directors Derek Kwok & Clement Cheng (April 27th, 2010)
The Udine premiere of “ Gallants” (a film produced by Gordon Lam Ka-tung for Focus Films, Andy Lau’s company) was the second screening in the world after the one of the Hong Kong International Film Festival last March. It will be released in the Hong Kong theaters next June.
Coincidence: Clement Cheng & Derek Kwok started as scriptwriters on Wilson Yip’s “ Skyline Cruisers”, where Patrick Lung Kong (who’s currently based in New York) worked on as an actor. Ten years later, they met again at the Far East Fiml Festival, where Patrick Lung Kong enjoyed “ Gallants” screening very very much. After the movie, he warmly congratulated the young directors and had with them a great conversation about filmmaking. Magic moment!
