Heya,
Over the weekend Robin, Grant, and I helped our friend, James Feng at RiLL Films, with his entry into the 72 Hour Film Shootout competition. Dan and I are no strangers as we battled in this competition before in 2007. If you’re unfamiliar, filmmakers have 72 hours to write, produce, edit, and submit a 5 minute short. If that sounds hectic, it is, but also fun!
There were numerous difficulties we had to overcome before, during, and most likely after the shoot. We managed to get through the shootout in one piece, well most of us anyway, Robin fell victim to Grant’s trigger finger (you’ll have to watch the short). The piece is titled, Grey Skies, and will be available shortly as the director’s cut is currently being finalized, so stay tuned.
Competitions like these can be tough since everything is so last minute, but the result is a finished product and with the benefit of a cash prize or exposure in being screened, risking time in a shootout is well worth it.
Cheers
My name is Jason and I look forward to working with everyone here, starting with you!
