Introducing Team Nanshan. A couple of weeks before my second little boy, PIran, was born, I went on a traditional Mancation with a few of my closest homies - just a long weekend of unhinged mayhem before settling back down to sleepless nights and nappy changing...
Here's a few pix of the trip to Nanshan Ski Resort, just north of Beijing. The place surpassed all our expectations and although the mountain is small and runs were short, it was perfect for a cheap and easy few days boarding. Plus the Nanshan Mellow Park is of course world class with serious jumps, kickers, rails, boxes and other random obstacles thrown in. There were virtually no queues anywhere, the food was fantastic, accommodation decent and people friendly. For those that need it, rental gear was also available and was as good as you'd get anywhere.
It aint Niseko, but it's well worth a visit for a cheap quick boarding trip - and it'd be the perfect place to learn.. As soon as both my boys are old enough, that's where we'll be heading to learn how to throw down the tricks.. Oh yes!
Team Nanshan: The Video - coming soon...
