Over the long weekend, me, Mrs FC, Baby FC and a bunch of friends went deep into the Hong Kong countryside to stay with some friends, get some fresh air and generally chill, eat and enjoy a nice view... A great time was had by all, but I was reminded just how strange things get in the countryside.
When I was a very little kid I was brought up in the English countryside, where I'd frequently come across fences with dead and decaying creatures hanging on them (stuff like rats, moles and all those little rodenty-type dudes). The farmers used to tell us that it was a "warning" to other wee critters not to come by and cause a fuss.. These things were not welcome "round these parts"...
So when I saw these (below) in Hong Kong's own Lobster Bay at the weekend, I thought in some sinister way that these country folk were maybe sending out their own "warning"... A warning to all those moronic corporate icons that have already started encroaching on the Hong Kong landscape elsewhere. When I go back, I really hope to see Mickey and all his other little friends hanging there too...
The countryside. It's dark and weird out there...
