AR, short for Augmented Reality, is a technology that I was introduced to earlier this year thru work. To make everything simpler, this form of technology combines the real with the virtual in real-time...the technology can be used in all different forms of media and it definitely took over in 2009...

District 9

For one of the top movies of the year 2009 (along with Avatar of course), District 9, marketers used AR as for the campaign back in June. Postcards can be used to control the character on the interactive game...check the demo video:

John Mayer - "Heartbreak Warfare" Music VideoThis is the first ever Augmented Reality music video. With your webcam, a computer, and a piece of paper/mobile phone...you can virtually be in the music video. Start by printing a designated marker and lining it up with the graphic on the screen.
