Another Milestone in life

It's been awhile since my last entry but with good reason.  I've been really, really busy.

End of blog.

Hehe, now to expand on the busy.

MOVING OUT!

I have officially moved out of the house.  I am the first in my family to move out.  It is generally known that (in my family) you do not move out until you are married and have a career.  I have broken that and have moved into a very nice place with 2 of my close friends.  One friend who does Wushu with me and another who's a writer.  Living together has been very entertaining with very little conflict.  Except for a few minor details that could be an entire blog itself.  My desk is sideways and that's the way I use it.   For some reason my friend really likes furniture and tells me I'm not giving this desk the "proper respect it deserves".  For that I have two smaller coffee tables upside down and stacked on top of each other.  They make a very nice shelf.  I'll take some pictures sometime and put them up.

It was a huge shock for my parents you can imagine as I was always somewhat of a mama's and daddy's boy.  And this just really caught them off guard.  My mom had too much to say about it when I told you.

STRAY CATS STUDIOS

We're starting a film production company with a few other partners.  I kinda got everyone interested by recruiting them to work on a few projects together and kindling their interest.  We just purchased a Canon AH-X1 camera that we will be using for our next project.  A short film for the Asian Film Festival Contest here in Vancouver here called the Mighty Asian Movie Making Marathon.  Been a spectator for many years, and it's a lot of fun.  So hopefully we can put together something great.

SHOW AND DISASTER

One set back was that we were recently the victims of a breaking and entering.  After a few weeks of living at this new location we did not sleep in till 2am for the first time.  My Wushu group was doing a demonstration to coincide with the opening of the Olympic Ceremony.  It was our biggest performance to date, one that we have spent a month preparing for (that's a long time for us) and we were pretty happy with it.  We took the day off to relax, went to play some games with some of the kids in the group.  Just to get a call from the Realtor that our place was just robbed...  what an ending to the awesome game I was dominating.

11 people in the house.  The first time everyone was out of the house at noon.  Two asian guys in their mid twenties jumped into an open window upstairs and just walked into our 5 bedroom basement downstairs.  The owners came home and they ran off with some of the neighbours catching a glimpse of them before they drove off in their silver compact car.  The owners lost a camera and some cellphones.  They didn't seem like they looked at my room at all.  But they went into my friend's room, dropped a laptop they took from upstairs on my friend's bed and took his laptop instead (it's a very nice one).  Rummaged around his desk to find 200 dollars cash.  Went to my other friend's room and took his Ipod, some watches, including a very expensive Gucci watch he received as a gift from his girlfriend's family.  And as they were trying to take apart our sound system and get to the Xbox 360 it seems like the owners came home from superstore and they ran off.

The owners are great and we really like them.  But this whole event has gotten us overly paranoid.  We have asked for some changes to be made.  But we are really debating moving out again (in less than a month, such a hassle), except to a bigger, cheaper and our own house.  So that's a huge incentive unless they really try to make it up to us.  Cause we lost about 3000 dollars worth of stuff.  We did nothing wrong, we will take much more precaution next time around, but if its at a new place, we don't know yet.

I LOVE THAT I LOVE TO WORKSo after working a few days at Electronic Arts (always a pleasure), I got a supporting role on the upcoming feature film, 2012.  This is one of the biggest feature films to come through Vancouver so I was incredibly happy.  It's a gigantic ensemble cast, so if you want to know who's in it, just IMDB it, quite a few names.  The director/writer/producer is Roland Emmerich, he did "The Day After Tomorrow", "10,000 BC", and "Independence Day".  My character is another "monk" character.  I seem to feel like I'm gonna be type casted.  hehe, except it's a different kind of monk completely and I make my own projects that I can be whoever I want.  Yay!  I was there for the first day of shooting about 2 weeks ago, it was done up in Whistler.  The view was spectacular, they opened up the gondola for us so that we could be at the top of Whistler mountain while the sun was setting.  Was just incredible.  They also gave me a very sweet suite (I love bad puns!).  First time in a King sized bed I think.  Room was super nice but I didn't spend much time there.  One of the Alumni from my Wushu club was actually my stunt double, so we got to hang out and went to some bars.

I have a handful of days left on the project but it is spread out till December.  So they'll be flying me in and out of Kamloops, but that should be fun.

Hmm, I believe that is my life in a nutshell as of late.  Will post pictures if I remember to.
