It's been awhile since I've posted or even thought about posting. I'm in the states right now and Alive not Dead I associate with Asia but really it's not. It's the easiest way to blog no matter where I am. And I can thank my mom for that one. So it's the day after Canada day, which was very uneventful as most Americans (many Canadians even) have no idea about. Canada is 144 years old and that's something to celebrate. Happy one day belated Canada!Apart from missing my country's birthday, I've been quite busy. Despite being in the US, I am still running on Beijing time as almost every single work day is a night shoot. A big advantage of that is that we don't have hundreds of people crowding around making noise and trying to see what's going on in their hometown the entire day but instead you have a few hundred that whittles down to about 10 by 5am (I'm impressed and they earn some attention after that) and then the early risers that come out after 6am.The weather here is very temperamental. We've had the nicest days I've ever seen anywhere. Then there are the scorchers. The flash floods with the biggest downpours that last about 10 minutes. The thunderstorms as well. It's been pretty fun for the most part except when it holds up production by blowing all our tents away.So here are some interesting things that have happened while I've been here.Been watching a lot of movies with my fellow cast mates. In alphabetical order: Victoria Justice, Jane Levy, Thomas Mann and Josh Pence in particular. One of which was Forks over Knives that spurred a discussion of eating a healthy whole foods, plant based diet. Which led to a challenge for me to become a vegan (for lack of a better term) for the rest of the shoot. I'm coming into the 3rd week and it's not so bad at all. I still love watching people eat meat, eggs and dairy, and the smell is great, I just can't have any. I feel less bloated despite eating much more than I normally would, so that's a good thing.I saw a roller derby "Jam" which was a lot of fun. Bought my first team t-shirt in support of the Cleveland Steamers. Unfortunately my team lost, but they still win with the name. The mascots of the teams, Brocolli and Cheese are left empty during the match. This is currently my background photo.I also donated blood for the first time. Lots of firsts here. My bag of blood, nice. Completely painless, I didn't feel any different without that pint of blood.I went to Cedar Point, which is one of the best amusement parks in the world with great roller coasters. Millennium Force and Dragster being the highlights.I'm playing my favourite character in any movie I've been apart of to date. The entire cast and crew, from the director, producers, the PA's to the background performers, has been amazing. Every single day is a joy to be apart of and every scene has been hilarious. It's a halloween movie and this pumpkin was part of the welcome package they had for me in the trailer. It was filled with chocolate but since going vegan I left it with craft services for the rest of the crew.I'll need to take some more pictures from when we're not on set for sure. The movie, "Fun Size" will be coming out in Halloween, 2012. Long time I know, but it'll be worth the wait.
