Entourage

I just finished season 4 of Entourage.  I remember seeing ads for it while I was still taking the bus way back in High School but I've never really had an interest in the show until Jimmy T introduced it to me in Hengdian and got me to watch the first few episodes.  Was hooked after that.  As it is with so many series like it, especially when you have the collection in front of you, not just watching week to week, you can never be satisfied with those cliffhanger endings.  And so day in and day out, whenever there was time, it would be entourage until finally I got through all 51 episodes.

The story isn't all that special.  But the characters are so great.  My favorites being Johnny, Ari and Lloyd.

Johnny "Drama" Chase is hilarious.  As I progressed through the episodes I liked him more and more.  Johnny Drama acts all the time as part of his lifestyle.  It's as if Johnny Drama is trying to play the part of Johnny Chase and he's just getting the hang of it, because he gets better as the seasons goes on.  Kevin Dillon does such a great job, and the character really grows on you.

Johnny Drama: Nobody appreciates their girlfriend. Until they get herpes from the next broad. Know what I'm saying?

I always wanted to be more like this man.  But I could never bring myself to it, not even close.  Ari Gold never got the "it's okay to tell white lies" speech.  No, actually he just loves spitting out truths uncensored and always with a dirty twist to make it all the more.  Cunning and obnoxious in his work.  Then there's the soft part of him that loves his wife, and despite all the gorgeous women surrounding him, some even throwing themselves at him, he will always be faithful to her.  He is just awesome and every time he says something, I say to myself "Damn, he's good".  The Emmy was well deserved for Jeremy Piven.

Ari Gold:Unless Carmen Electra calls for an emergency tittyf*ck, do NOT answer the phone!

Lloyd makes Ari.  If there was no Lloyd, Ari would not be nearly as of a great character that he is.  Lloyd takes all the shit Ari gives out and being Chinese and gay gives Ari all the more material to work with.  Lloyd sticks with Ari through thick and thin.  Just a lovable character.  Rex Lee!  I just love it when Asian guys get awesome roles on these types of productions.  Doesn't happen often enough!

Lloyd: What did you want me to say?

Ari: That I have a huge wart on my cock that needs removal would have been better, wake the f*ck up, Lloyd.

Following the series really gives me that drive to really pursue this path that I would so love to take.  I mean getting to the level where Vinnie Chase is (loosely based on Mark Wahlberg, love his stuff btw) is the dream for me.  And watching the show is like watching .  It's just so exciting and gives me the jitters.  Of course a dream's a dream.  And Mark Wahlberg's just bad ass.
