I came across some production problems with these animation plates I'm working on...mostly, the problem that they expect me to do more work than I should...lol.
I bill by the hour at times and I don't want to bill them for being confused. so I'll stop
and have some fun on A.N.D.
hey, if they haven't coined the term, A.N.D. then I just did. take note.
lol
I digress. So heres some more old school technique stuff. I share this because I actually saved some steps so its fun to share process. and because this piece was something that came out of
doodle. I scanned it then traced it with paths for the solid shapes and rendered trying to
make it look like a 3D model. I used photoshop.
I think a lot of the charm that was in the sketch got lost as well as some design elements.
I don't know why that happened. In my defense, I had been working as professional for 11 years already mostly focusing on coloring and painting other peoples works. this was the first time I really gave myself that kind of attention from a sketch to completion in the manner I worked. paths are a great medium to work with. takes a bit to mask off the ares but the end result is very pleasing.
Maybe a little anal and self indulgent. I think I enjoy the loose stuff I'm doing these days.
start this one in 2003 and finished it in 2005. like the smoking lady.
