POSSIBILITIES to live into, not EXPECTATIONS to live up to.

I blur sial... when I first heard that quote. I didn't get it. Then Aub began to tell a story...

At the start of the semester, a college professor asked his class of top students what it was that they were most worried about.

"Failing", some muttered.

"Not getting a good grade", others exclaimed.

So this professor then turned to his students and said, "What if I told you, right now, that I am giving every single one of you an 'A' this semester?"

The class was quiet for awhile, not sure how to react.

"However," the professor continued, "from tomorrow onwards, I would like each of you to tell me what assignment you would like to do to achieve that 'A'."

What an interesting thing to do, I thought to myself. Then Aub continued to explain. This college professor was teaching his students not to live up to the Expectation of getting good grades. He was teaching them to live for the Possibilities that could lead up to it.

The list of assignments that the students came up with were amazing! From building models to writing a thousand page essays, to projects that would even put a corporate executive to shame. And you know what? These assignments were not even a requirement to get the 'A'! They had the 'A' no matter what!

If only we would live like that. Believing that our dreams willcome true no matter what. All we have to do is consider our options to get there, and take the steps towards it. Then it only becomes a matter of timebefore our dreams become reality.

I think this will be my mantra... for now. Finding possibilities to live into, not expectations to live up to.
