I've had this vintage 50's summer dress since college. Still love it.My dear friend Linda got married a few weeks ago. After her lovely wedding, she mini-mooned at The Plaza Hotel. On the first day of her wedded bliss, Linda invited our friend Tomo ( from LA) and me, to join her and new hubby Victor for high tea.
I am gluten-free, which is often problematic for high tea service, and The Palm Court was not particularly responsive when I called to ask. But Linda and I rarely get to spend much time together, so I just showed up anyhow. (BTW, I am gluten-free because I have to be, not because I want to be.)
Despite the the unpleasant waitstaff, we were able to find out that The Plaza does, in fact, have a kitchen that accommodates special diets. So I got past the initial unpleasantries, and got to enjoy finger sandwiches and scones like a normal girl!
