How the Paint Peels: A Bathroom Drama

When Vickie and I moved into this apt, the tub was peeling. I mentioned this to the management company and they had a contractor come in and reglaze it shortly after we moved in. Bijoux and I went to visit Jeff for the day. When we came home the apt was completely uninhabitable. The fumes were unbearable and we couldn't use the tub for 12 hours. Luckily we were able to move into a short-stay for the night.About 2 months ago the tub began to peel again. The contractor is back.Apparently, tub glazing has a 3yr warranty and the last guy did a really bad job. The guy the management company hired this time is super high strung. Called me two times in a row last tuesday--a week in advance, frantic, wondering why I didn't respond to his text to call him back to confirm today's appointment. It was a text from a strange number, what did he expect? Last night he called both the building super and I to double confirm, twice.He exploded into the apt today,  moving stuff around, dumping things on my rug, chain smoking, calling his office every 5 minutes, lecturing me the finer points of tub glazing and about how to take care of a reglazed tub, and reminding me six times not to even fantasize about using the tub for 12, maybe 24 hours (since there is poor ventilation in here). Then having a minor break down when he realized he over-glazed it a bit. He also tried to sell me a no slip treatment for an extra $25. What a nut.At least I know he's through.I forgot what a nightmare the process is, sitting at my computer right now, choking on fumes. I guess I could leave but I'm not keen on leaving him in my apt alone. Luckily we were able to move to a short-stay again. Poor Bijoux is beside herself, hiding in a corner under our temporary bed. Blegh.
