Saturday was the Asian Heritage Street Festival.........great music and lots of cars. Sf Taiko Dojo opened the event...after that many groups played......including Calisus who gave away a free album of their music, A New State of Normal............there were also lot of DJ mixes thru out the day..............This year though the Festival seemed much more corporate and brought in lots of groups from around the country.......that was kool but since lots of people did not know these groups there was not a whole lot of people listening......in the past the Festival used lots of local groups that have a following in the Bay Area and the response was much warmer. One of the big sponsors this year was Subaru, and so there were many teched out cars competing for prizes and displaying their koolness. The day was perfect for a Streetfest as it continued to be sunny and hot..............we have been having a heat wave in the Bay Area everything in the upper 80's.......but by the time I started home you could hear the fog horns blowing in the Bay as the cooling breezes began to blow in.
Sound check on the main stage in the Peace Plaza in Japantown, as the Streetfest begins.
Can't have a Streetfest without cars............Post Street was lined with kool cars for everyone to check out.
Have a nice one! Please remember if you are in the Bay Area support Tiger Claw Foundation's Sichuan Earthquake Fundraiser on Saturday, 7:30pm at the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway............the SF Wushu Team and I will be there.........hope to see you all there!!
