After returning from LA....it was more Lion Dancing. Hong Lock is the main Senior Services Center in Oakland Chinatown. I began first performing for them more than 15 years ago....Seniors always enjoy the Chinese New Year's Celebration and enjoy watching the students dance the Lion, and do Wushu for them.
Ely came armed to perform for the seniors at Hong Lock.
Tim took the day off from the law office to perform.........Chen style Bagua Kun Lun Fan.
Glenn performing the Hidden Sleeve Punch of Chen style Taiji.
Overall it was a tough day....since we were a little short on performers....we had a great time performing........afterwards even Corey and myself were sore from playing instruments all day........some of the shows we did were over 40 minutes of Lion Dancing!
Then the next day we were off to the Ox Bow Public Market in Napa for more wushu and Lion Dancing. We performed for the Ox Bow Market last year when they were opening up. Tillerman Tea again invited us to Celebrate Chinese New Years in Napa.
Ox bow Public Market has organic foods....fish, meats....and ice Cream! Good bread, fresh Olive oil, coffee, cheese and wine are all found at the Market.
After, a short wushu performance it was time to start our own Chinese New Year Parade thru the Mall.
Eureka led the way as the audience watched the Lion Dance.
Lots of the audience this year brought letteuce for the lion.........lots of dollar bills!!
Then we finished the parade in front of Tillerman Tea. The Lion did the Peace coin Transformation for good luck for the new year.
. Our Lion Dancers and Tillerman Tea.
When we finished it was time for lunch........and then some organic ice cream.......two scoops and 4 flavors! Only way to finish Lion Dancing! Prosperity and Health to everyone!
