Update on Sichuan

Wanted to update everyone on the final numbers from the Memorial Weekend fundraiser for the Earthquake Victims in Sichuan.  We were able to raise $72,178.39!!  Thank you to all performers and students for supporting this event.  The money will be donated to the Shin Shin Foundation which will use the money to rebuild the schools in Sichuan.  There is plenty still to do there, the Tiger Claw Foundation will continue to accept funds to help the earthquake Victims.  You can also now go to the Tiger Claw Foundation Website, MartialArtsMart.com., and purchase a copy of the DVD of the Memorial Day Masters Exhibition.  Please continue to help out and purchase a copy and tell your friends about it so we can continue to help the people of Sichuan!!

On the home front have you noticed that everything has gone up??!  I of course do eat out alot so I notice how much I am spending for lunch.....before I could get lunch for under $10...now however, it's at least $11.......an increase of at least 10%...........if you are on a tight budget this can be quite a bit..........$100 doesn't buy you much!  One good piece of news...you can eat tomatoes again......but not Jalapenos...............but they still don't know how it happened.  Organics are good and safe.....but really expensive........it's not good when one cannot trust the source of your food....especially in America.........in China I can understand that.......when I was young and training in ShenZhen and going to school in Guangdong.......I got sick regularly as the food in China was not very sanitary.......I had to go into HK every weekend to get real food!!  Now for a good Mexican food Resturant......El Toreador in the Portola District in San Francisco.....it's the best Mexican food outside of the Mission District. Chicano food is one of my favorite next to Chinese...........my father besides requiring us to speak Chinese also taught us to speak Spanish.....when he was young he grew up in East LA with lots of Chicano friends........so I learned spanish and enjoyed Chicano food.    At El Toreador I recommend their Rancheros Huevos...especially if you like eggs and chile.........  But the neat thing about El Toreador.....is it's Hollywood Actors and Actress Gallery..........it has pictures of the original Cisco Kid and Zorro..........Duncan Renaldo and Guy Williams..........but also pictures of Ann Southern and Barbara Stanwyck.......when they were young.....lots of fun looking at all the pictures.....but also just lots of neat decorations to look at.....but as always food is good!  (Hey, Ely.......let's go some time!!).

In addition to good food, it has one of the great photo gallerys of old Hollywood stars. In the middle is the Cisco Kid...and Ann Southern.....and many others.
