Four Days to the Games. Finally today IWUF made announcements about where, and when the Wushu Tournament will be held. It was announced that the Beijing Wushu tournament will be held on Aug 21-24 at he Olympics Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing. Though at this time they don't have a place for the athletes to stay.....and of course currently they will not be part of the opening ceremonies......maybe closing?? Six Days to the Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games, certainly an exciting time for any athlete.....and wannabes too!! Weather is cooperating in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tianjin.......all official host cities for the Games....but it will be no picnic......temperatures will be in the upper 80's-90's and humidity probably over 60%-80%.........it will be like taking a sauna every day! the good thing is rain is also forecasted....which will cool things down and clean up the air.....when training in Beijing in the past ...Read more
Seven more days to the Olympics!! For those who have asked about Wushu most likely there will be no official coverage......you will probably have to watch HK TV, Korea,or Japan......to get a chance to see Wushu...........that's what happened during the Asian Games........those were the only Countries that reported the Wushu Tournament. Eight days and counting to the Olympics! In the Bay Area anticipation is great.......as the Chinese Community is looking foward to the event.......Chinese TV has had programs every nite to introduce the top athletes in China...and have them talk about their training and hopes for the Games. InMat started out bright and early, as Glenn, Marvin ,Helen, and I left for San Jose at 8am. When we arrived the CPAA Facility was not ready for the Tournament to start....they were finishing up their aerobics class........which had seemingly over 100 students.........the place is well used as it houses classes of all kinds.............dance,music, calligraphy,and martial arts..........all being taught by professional artist from China.
