So there's this girl who interned with us. She's a bit of a social butterfly and overly dramatic. Most of us at the office took everything she said with a grain of salt. I never took her seriously... not that I dislike her--far from it. I just thought of her as this young lost girl who craves attention and has alot of growing up to do.
She'll leave these blatantly attention seeking status or notes on facebook and I'll usually roll my eyes or leave a sarcastic comment just cause I like to clown people. (But hey, it's out of love. I wouldn't clown an acquaintance now. I only clown close friends or good friends).
Anyway, today she wrote a note on love...no, LOVE. I clicked into it thinking it was going to be another over pretentious "I will never love again in this road of life" Wong Kar Wai bullshit. But what she wrote not only made sense, but it was deep. It blew me away. I was floored by it completely.
She's an official artist on here and she may read this so I better stop... oh wait I don't give a flying crap.
Yeah...so out of the blue, she floors me with this piece she wrote. And it's hitting home in every way. And I'm just sitting here thinking, "damn".
The lesson? Never, ever dismiss someone's views on life just because you think they don't understand. I have newfound respect for her now. Not that I didn't respect her before, but I respected her like how Gary Payton respects Kenny Smith, if you know what I mean.
Oh who the fuck am I kidding, 99% of you reading this won't get the GP/Kenny Smith reference cause y'all in HK and you don't watch TNT in the states. Whatevers. I'll continue to make obscure basketball references until the end of time.
To paraphrase Nas... "on my second marriage now, but bball my first wifey"
