It's not as well known as the other hits because this is off Warning, the 2000 album that flopped critically and commercially and nearly ended the band. I've always loved the album though, and Waiting has always been my favorite track.

I love that the lyrics can go with anything. No matter what your situation in life is, you can apply this to anything.

I remember 2001, I was driving to Vegas in my beatup Celica. We had to stop multiple times in the desert cause the car overheated. If you haven't driven to Vegas before from Cali, the drive is just one long desert and then suddenly you get past this hill and you see all the bright lights of Vegas. I remember making through that hump and the "downtown, lights will be shining" part of the song kicked in right when we saw the Vegas lights... ahhh bliss.
