Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q6AblNi6sg I was completely underwhelmed at their gig a few months back.
I think their new stuff sucks.
I think I like Definitely Maybe the movie (with Ryan "THE LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE" Reynolds) better than Definitely Maybe the album (every Brit reading this just mentally cursed me out at this exact moment)
But I am glad to have met--and got on with--Noel Gallagher, the man who wrote this brilliant piece of art.
I was nervous going into my interview with him. I knew he was a pissy cynical Brit who's notoriously ill-tempered. But during the interview he was outspoken, genuine, and he talked shit about the Chinese communist government, which I loved.
There are a few songs that will always, always hold a place in my heart: The Stroke's Someday, Green Day's When I Come Around and Good Riddance, Weezer's The Good Life, etc. I'm sure more songs will be added throughout my lifetime. (I'm only including songs that I've experienced live and came out during my time. If I were to include oldies the list would be dominated by Lennon/McCartney and Dylan)
But Don't Look Back in Anger will be on the short list. Always.
