So every week or so I’ll spend 30 mins to an hour hanging with two cool British cats around the streets of SoHo. We don’t do much—just sit on the curb and catch up.
Last week, one of them was going off about how British writers are the best and the week before he was saying how British TV is the best.
I don’t know about writing and TV, but the Britis are the best at music though. They're the best at rock and roll and as Jack Black once said, a good rock and roll show can change the world.
Well, maybe not THE world. But this song is changing my world.
Another pick-me-up tune at a time when the news seems to be all about: random ass bombings in the middle east on a daily basis, inexplicable shootings in the US on an hourly basis (and Obama has the gall to sign this shit?), and the superficial nature of this city (money, status, networks. 90% of my email is about club nights, WTF)
Sitting on the curbs of SoHo, gazing at the HK sunset...

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I dont need no friends
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunsets fine
Terry meets julie, waterloo station
Every friday night
But I am so lazy, dont want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I dont feel afraid
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunsets fine
Millions of people swarming like flies round waterloo underground
But terry and julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And the dont need no friends
As long as they gaze on waterloo sunset
They are in paradise
Waterloo sunsets fine
