A double header? Yes indeed. I've felt compelled to say more and tip more hats. First off, Dax Phelan. If you haven't checked out his page, please do -

Even though I only hung out with the guy a couple times over the little while he was in HK, it was certainly entertaining to witness the comedy between Tobin and himself. I thought that was at least enough material for a 10 minute montage. At least. If Dax allows one of the 'shaving' pictures to surface you'll know what I mean - at least I think you'll know.
On Readings
Other than that I finished John Irving's 'Until I find you'. And though I found it to be quite a good book, the end was a disappointment. I know when you tie things up in the end they're supposed to come to some sort of conclusion - this one was almost too convenient. I'll give props to the visual aspect. Though its not quite as 'colorful' as Murakami's, his subject's willingness to enter taboo is top notch.
I started reading Murakami's 'Windup bird' but just felt too burned out by Irving's 1000+ pages (I previously said 900+ but I checked again). Now I'm reading something Tobin suggested but more insisted I read (he almost pointed a gun at me).
On MusicAh, another one of my favorite things. My childhood friend, Ryan Hui, previously mentioned Elliot Smith's 'New Moon'. It is mighty good if you like Elliot Smith. Its melancholy, its relaxing, its sunday driving music in CA. I dig it. A nice treat on the album is the early version of Miss Misery which was the song he got an Oscar nomination for Good Will Hunting - one of my favorite movies (I used to watch it before studying just to feel smarter, didn't help in the mid-terms or finals but it did 'make' me feel smarter).
I've always love the sound of this band and love the name - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Their new-er album Baby 81 is pretty damn good. I like the garage-ie sound.
The White Stripes. I love them. The both of them. The album is good but then again its not all good. Couple of gems in there especially the first song Icky Thump.
On Humor
There's an extremely funny five second clip out on my favorite daily, College Humor (www.collegehumor.com) showing an awesome dramatic shot of a Chipmunk or something of the like. Trust me, you have to watch it at least 5 times to get it. Here it is:

If you like the video, there's even a shirt for it now -

And then there's that other video I talked about earlier that Tobin, Boon and myself watched at least once the other night -

Self explanatory.
Have fun people, talk to you later
