Yung Yung stretches and cuts...
Anyone would be mistaken for thinking we had it in our leading lady. After Yung Yung was signed to play Snowblade, we've been stretching, pummeling, cutting and honeing her into the lethal weapon she needs to become...
The sick thing is, she seems to like it!
I remember writing a few blogs back about how hard it is to find young performers (these days, they're all younger than me!) who really want to work. Yung Yung has impressed all of us by reversing the trend: she wants to work even more than we ask her to.
As we all prepare to head up to the Ace Studio in Nanhai, she's still in boot camp under the diligent Mak Sifu, who is coming up to Guangzhou with us to continue her training.
I'm also grateful my my fellow AnDers Duc Luu, Harry DuYoung and the inimitable Andrew Ng for coming on board this exciting new project.
For me, making my belated debut as a director, its a chance to try and make a real a full vision, from script to finished film, with no studio or star or other film-maker to blame.
The film tells the story of a master swordswoman, an assassin for hire, forced to kill seven very unique individuals between moonrise and moonset. We are still casting, so please send your materials to vicki@bxe-productions.com.
I should stress that, though the film is in English, we're looking for Asian actors. I'm always happy to get submissions from high-kicking Europeans, but we won't be able to use any in this film!
