You deserve a slower death, but I just don't have the time...

Strong female leads are always easier to write than they are to cast. When we decided to follow the bright, breezy 'Beach Spike!' with a dark, bloody, sexy swordplay thriller, we already had a couple of potential leading players in mind.

One was a Hong Kong super model... whose management felt it would be bad for her image (they may have been right!). One was already a member of our extended film-making family... who declined to fly back from LA to shoot our Filmart/Cannes teaser for the film (she probably has a better gig...)

There just never seems to be a blade-wielding vixen around when you really need one, so I'm indebted to friend and fellow AnDer Joe Fiorello for suggesting the cunningly linguist virtuoso action actress-in-waiting Yung Yung Yu (star of Universe's 'In Love with the Dead').

Ms Yu is lean, lovely and lethal, and we're delighted to welcome her aboard the long dark ride that is 'Snowblade'...
