About Brian Tee

Brian Tee is an actor and producer. As an actor, he is best known for his starring role as “D.K.,” the ‘Drift King’ in Universal Picture’s third installment of the hit franchise Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift (2006, $157mm, worldwide; $62.5mm, USA) directed by Justin Lin. August 2007, Tee produced/starred in the independent feature drama, Dead Land. Premiering on October 5, 2007 is Finishing the Game, an independent feature directed by Justin Lin, in which Tee gave a stand-out comic performance. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, 2007 and is being distributed by IFC Films nationwide. Tee has been cast as the lead in Humilidating, a comedy in development for Lions Gate Entertainment. Tee has been featured in Hollywood studio films such as Fun with Dick and Jane; We Were Soldiers, opposite Mel Gibson; Austin Powers: Goldmember and Starship Troopers II. In television, Tee has guest starred on such hit shows as Grey’s Anatomy, Jericho, The Unit, Entourage, The Pretender, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Monk, Without a Trace and Wanted.
As a producer, Tee has teamed with writer/director Christine Yoo to form Tee/Yoo Productions, an independent film production company formed to synergize Tee and Yoo’s artistry and entrepreneurship. Under Tee/Yoo, these two collaborators will produce a slate of four (4) US-Asia co-productions that will star Brian Tee and be written and directed by Christine Yoo. The Wedding Palace, US-Japan wedding comedy, is first on the Tee/Yoo slate and will go into production Fall 2007. The film is being financed and distributed in Japan and in the US by ImaginAsian Entertainment. Tee/Yoo will follow up with 271, a gritty, US-Korea bio-pic about Eddie Kang, an infamous nightclub manager set in Los Angeles’ Korea-town’s hot nightclub district, slated for production 2008. The Hills, a US-Japan ensemble drama set in the decadent host club world of Tokyo and Hatchet Man, a US-Korea period drama set in 1920’s Chicago during the rise of Al Capone will follow. As the star and producer of the films, Tee is perfectly poised to become a cross-over talent to the Asia market Tee/Yoo seeks to capitalize on the creative and business climates in the US and Asia, which the Company feels is primed for its unique brand and style of global entertainment.
