Sorry I am really backed up. Back on 4/5 I had 2 auditions in the same day. The first one I would hardly call an audition. It was more like take photos and fill out a sheet of paper on a clipboard. I was out quickly which left me a bit of free time between appointments.
The second one was a little difficult. I showed up and waited about 45 minutes for them to talk to me. Then I was given a 3 page script to read over but I didn't have to memorize it, just do a table read with another guy. After looking it over for about 10 minutes, I went in. I don't know what it is but I always get nervous when I walk in and have cameras on me for just an audition. They had 2 cameras set on tripods by the table and one guy walking around with one in his hand. The part I read for was an un-named cop. We were investigating a murder scene where a kids stomach was cut open and no one saw anything happen.
I read through the script a few times with cop #2 and tried doing it in different tones and a few times with some anger on the lack of details of the crime scene. After I finished, the one casting director wanted me to give them a short monologue. I didn't prepare one cause they said I would just read so now I was really in a panic. They wanted to see me act something out which was a good sign. All I could come up with was the scene from Dark Knight where the Joker trashes the mob bosses. They liked what I did and then it turned into a Q&A about how it was working on Dark Knight and meeting Heath and such.
The odd thing about the last interview is that A Nightmare on Elm Street has the remake shooting in Chicago for most of the summer. The movie is called Sleepers and deals with gruesome murders. Hmmmm. It could be a code name or fake title but maybe it isn't. I was contacted about Nightmare on Elm Street recently and they used the actual name. I'll keep everyone posted on how this turns out
Afterwards I went to Chinatown and pigged out. All the yummy foods I miss like cha siu bao (BBQ pork buns), BBQ pork fried rice, egg tarts, Vita tea boxes, Qoo, ham & egg buns, fried turnip cakes. Like I said, I pigged out!!!
